Having witnessed a farmer friend of mine harvest one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen by "conditioning it" I believe this would work well with any wildlife. My friend drove a Versatile tractor (with cab) up to the buck many times over a summer and then only once in the fall
I believe this guy could probably do the same thing with blank boards on the tractor (but it would not be as good a story). It is often the shape and movement of a human that scares wildlife -- they get used to machinery where they cannot distinguish the human operator in a short period of time and as long as it is not doing something out of the ordinary, they ignore it.
That would probably be one of the reasons why in many jurisdictions it is is illegal to have a loaded gun on ANY type of motorized vehicle

I found that the hooved rats would stop and watch me on the tractor; whereas, they'd run from me on foot with shotgun in hand. I was really wanting to do away with a trio of 2 does and a faun. Could never get a shot at them.
So, I started taking the shotgun with me on the tractor. I could stand it up on end with it resting muzzle up into the slot made by the throttle and the housing.
In pulling out of the carriage house one afternoon, I immediately spotted the trio munching on some discarded produce down below. So, I grabbed the shotgun and knocked a doe down first shot. Then I locked the parking brake and got off to go back to the garage, as I'd only had one slug with me.
Came back, loaded the slug and proceeded to go down the slope to the left side of the carriage house. I stopped right away because, lo and behold, the 2nd doe was just standing there just mopping over her buddy being dead. So, I took aim (well, looked down the barrel; one doesn't aim a shotgun exactly) and shot the 2nd one. She flinched and ran down slope, but her bones showed up later after the buzzards picked her apart.
A day or so later, I saw the faun near my veggie garden. It was about an 80 yard shot, but I took it down. It was still wiggling when I went to it; so, a second slug was needed to put it out of its death throes.
It's been 3 years of 7 1st year, 6 next year and 2 last year. I can walk my property now and not see a single hooved rat. They're just starting now again to show up crossing the front yard. Will need to use the ole shot gun again soon; I expect. It works.
