Ridgid pressure washers w Suburu engine?

Has anyone bought or used a Ridgid Pressure washer with a Suburu engine? The model I'm looking at is 3100psi commercial grade with a CAT pump. It looks well built. The last pressure washer I bought was an Excell with a 5HP Honda and has lasted 11 years. I have never owned anything powered with a Suburu small engine. Just looking for some feedback. I have one with the Suburu engine and no problems so far. I use it every week to pump out my Duck pond and clean it. I had a Honda unit and the pump went out very quickly, so now I have an engine to do something with. I bet the thing didn't have 20 hours on it, but as I wasn't using it very often it was maybe two years old and not warrantied by then. Replacing the pump was about 80% of the cost of a new one. Maybe I'll use it for a Go-Kart for the grandkids.

I bought a Spartan Jetter 13 years ago and used it maybe once a month for 13 years. the CAT PUMP died recently. It was going to cost about 650 to rebuild the CAT Pump, a new pump w/ MSRP $1600.00 . I looked into general pump co and ended up buy a brand new pump, unloader and pulsation valve for LESS than rebuilding the CAT PUMP! My engine is a
Honda GX390 13HP I believe...FWIW

Thanks for the input, guys. I went ahead and bought the Ridgid pressure washer today. My Excell is on it's last leg (harsh idle, loud, and nearly goes dead when pulling the trigger on the pressure wand). I used it today to clean up my MF 1529. My first impressions of this machine are great. Love the idle down feature when not spraying. It runs smooth and quiet and the wand is very comfortable. I hope it last as long as my Honda powered Excell.:thumbsup:

I have a Ryobi with a Suburu engine quite awhile now with no engine issues. After a break in period I switched to synthetic oil same as my other small engines.

The pump died recently so I have been trying to get by with a small electric until I order one. I never let it idle much unless I was spraying and the plug is original.

So, yes, I would buy another.

Hi there -

I was looking to see the general impression out there of pressure washers with a Subaru engine. I see that you too were looking at this and see that you went ahead and purchase one.

What are your thoughts? Do you still like it? Any other comments?
