I'm not sure about Rhino? However I have seen a Bush Hog PHD with a upright stand. The stand looks to be fairly simply to make- 2- 3/4 black iron pipes connected to couplings attached to a plate that cradles the gearbox( this creates a kick stand of sorts) The auger bit is used as a third leg- which keeps the PHD upright.

Good Luck

I made a stand for my PHD in a couple of hours. Its worked great for the last 6 months or so.

warhammer,
do you just chain phd to your stand? i'm chaining mine to one of the shed posts for now. would really like to move it. to the other end of equip shed. but i then need a stand.
thanks, carasel

All you have to do is when you get ready to park it where you want to store it ...drill a hole and disconnect it and let it sit and stay in the hole..it stands upright and you can seal the top of the hole to keep water from rain from filling in the hole. real easy to hook back up when you are ready to go again.

I just use an engine hoist that I had in the garage... adjustable, maneuverable, and I already had it. Perfect!

This is what works for me. Chris told me that is what he uses and sure enough, it don't get any easier. And the price was right...free made out of scrap. I just slide a tire iron through the hole in the stand as a safety stop when I remove the mounting pin for the final connection. It is very easy to push it around with one hand to get things lined up without having to worry about it geting awy from you.

On the top there are U shaped brackets on each side that hold the cross beam in place when the PHD is on it but can quickly be removed for mounting the PHD on the tractor.
The PHD "balances" on the stand with the curved portion of the PHD arm resting on the stand cross beam and the auger touching the ground. No chain or ties. Mine sat like that in my barn for 3-4 months between PHD uses last year just fine.
The next farmer over has had his PHD sitting on a little smaller version of the same stand for the last couple of years at least.
If you want to move the PHD without being attached to the tractor one of those cheap Harbor Freight engine hoists and a nylon motorcycle type tie down do the job easily. They make mounting and dismounting the PHD an easy one person job and can be pretty useful for rotary mower moving and maintenance as well.
