Reversing the ROPS on a BX22?

Was going to try reversing the ROPS so it folds toward the front. Need to shorten it up with the BH removed, so it fits in the shed. Has anyone tried this yet?

I have not tried reversing the ROPS. You may want to check to make sure that the ROPS if reversed is design to do the job is needs to do. Can it support the BX22 if rolled over.

i dont think reversing the rops is going to help for 2 reasons.
1. you will still have the length of the lower lift arm to deal with which are usually longer than a folded rops. i know mine are.

2. the upper half of the rops will be too long to fold down. it will hit the steering wheel and i dont see how you are going to drive like that, even if youare just pulling it into the shed.

Maybe he can balance the folded part on his head while he parks it.

I realize some do not think this would be a wise move but I had a very experienced welder cut 8" off the ROPS (the top half) and re-welded the flange. Now the BX22 fits perfectly into my garage and it is still high enough not to interfere with the BH operation (not to mention it looks a lot better). All you have to remember is when you get on the tractor for BH operation you have to duck you head a little more than usual. I have also installed 4 lights (2 flood, 2 Trapezoidal) -- with plenty of room to spare. I do not feel I have weakened the RPOs integrity and if I was to sell the BX (which is highly unlikely) I will replace the top half of the RPOs with a factory version.
