Well, I finally tried reversing the wheels to do some hillside field mowing. The tractor felt very stable and I liked that open wheeled race car look. ( I'll load a couple pics later.) Trouble is, the wheel track is wider than the 60" brush hog and it left stringers everywhere. I had to mow the field a second time with the Xmark to make it look decent.
If one could find wheels that are centered rather than having so much offset, I think things would be perfect. I did a quick Google but didn't find a dealer for these kind of wheels. Do any of you guys know a place to look? Thanks.

That offset is there for a reason. On my 1445, I can not reverse the wheels due to maximum offset. I did have a wheel company make me two wheels with solid centers with bolt holes. They can make them to your specs. I had them set the centers so as to give me a 1/2 in clearance to the frame.
