HI,

My JD 4310 has a problem. It started this Winter. When I step on my reverse pedal, nothing happens. I have to step on the reverse pedal a few times before reverse will kick in and start moving. Sometimes the reverse "jumps" into moving in reverse, other times it does it normally, a gradual reverse motion.

Any idea what the problem is?

Lubricate, grease/oil the linkage underneath the deck. Move it while doing this. Should also do a visual inspection of the bottom side to ensure all is as it should be.

My 4310 is the utility tractor . . . could you be more specific as to what to lubricate and what else to check on?

Thanks for your reply.

You should find some grease nipples and oil any place there are moving parts.

I have a jd4200 which is probably a little different.
