Kubota MX6000 (on order)
As I mentioned in an earlier post, my MX6000 burned in the recent CZU Complex fire.

I am wondering about salvaging parts from it, especially solid metal parts like the wheels, engine block, three point hitch components, etc.

Does anyone have any real world experience to share on this topic? Thanks much!

That's heartbreaking to look at!

Good luck to you!

I wouldn't touch it after looking at your picture. A lot of hardened parts aren't going to be as hard as they should be so will wear or fail prematurely. As was mentioned in the other thread, the oil was probably boiled so internal parts will be soft also.

I would just scrap it.... Fire damage is pretty complete.... Salvaging anything would be more work then its worth and then the is the fact you don't know to what extent the heat damage is....

Box scrape "may" be salvageable though...

Besides the boxblade & quick hitch, I would reuse only the muffler and manifolds. Everything else is scrap.

Sorry that this impacted you so much, I hope insurance may kick in to help?
Metals react to heat, become brittle or change shape etc. For safety, I would not trust cooked metal to support anything.

Many yrs ago when I was a service manager at a JD dealership I agreed to rebuild a JD 4020 & FEL that had been on fire. It wasn't burn't near as bad as photo above. Every time I looked up 4020 owner was needing an oil leak repaired. I would not want to do another burn rebuild.

What does the front of the loader look like? My question really relates to I might consider saving whatever attachment is in the front and possibly the SSQA but these were not in the photo! As for other salvageable parts, it appears that the grips on the QA were only melted and not burnt off. So it and the box blade should be ok.
Outside of the possibility of some FEL components, everything else including your hydraulic top link, appear that extreme heat has likely cause the properties of the metals to change.
Personally, I would not trust the exhaust manifold, which is the only component designed to sustain extreme heat, as I would suspect it has warped.
While you may be tempted to save hydraulic cylinders, it is likely that damage occurred in these as well—at least the 2 that can be seen in the photo the FEL lift and the top link!

Hope you have some insurance and otherwise scrape it all out.

Appreciate all of the thoughts very much guys.

The box blade and quick hitch are fine. Dirty, but fine (I am pretty sure). The rest I agree is probably a loss, although I am going to get an opinion on the FEL from the dealer's service guys. (separate thread with lots of pics on that if you are interested)
