RETURN VALVE ? MASSEY F 135

Hello All,
I have a MASSEY FERGUSON 135 and have spent out on a 3 point hydraulic log splitter. I have only one hydraulic valve / port set up, and I have to attach the return hose to the tractor. I have been told that it is to be attached in the hole on the right - now I am sorry as this is to most a simple task but my engine has been coated/protected in a grey paint and I tried loosening the hex screw thread but it didnt shift at all - i dont want to over exert and ruin the socket, any ideas how i can remove it and if it is the right hole. I have attached a photo of the left hand side of the tractor under the seat - the screw thread I am looking to remove is the one on the far right. Is this the right one for the return and how do I loosen it , also any tips as this is my first experience with hydraulics

Welcome to TBN

Let me first state that I am not familiar with your machine, but if you have only ONE valve that has only ONE port, then I am willing to bet it is for a SA (single acting, one hose) cylinder like used on older plows and such where gravity lowers them. I suspect you will have problems trying to operate a DA (dual acting, two hoses) cylinder that is on the splitter.

HI KENNYD - Thanks for replying.
Sorry there is one port which is connected to the pipe that runs from the block to the right where there is a quick release female hose end, there is also another one (and maybee more) to the right, this is the one that need to be un-screwed, i just wonder if there was a special tool required as it seems to be stuck fast, maybee I should have posted this onto the MASSEY section on TBN
