Hi. My dealer mentioned that NH told him there MAY be a retrofit kit for the tc29d and tc33d to mount a 14LA loader onto them. I called NH directly to try to get an accurate timeframe, but got the complete runaround (they told me to talk to the dealer, who says he has to hear it from NH!!!). I'm about to buy a tc24D to do alot of finish/detail landscaping work on 1.25 acres, but I had the dealer bring out a tc29D so I could try that also. I guess the tc29d is my dream tractor, IF it had the 14LA loader on it. I don't like the new da's front end changes, so that's out. Aargh..

Any knowledge of whether the 14LA can possibly maybe someday be mounted to a tc29D would be mucho appreciated. Thanks.

It's my understanding the front axle was also beefed up on the new DA models to accommodate the extra lift capacity of the 14LA loader.

Have you looked at the Case/IH Farmalls DX29/33. Same tractor with different styling. (Supersteer not offered on the Case/IH's)

I looked at the new TC24Da yesterday. I have a TC24d. I'll admit I am not a big fan of the headlights, but if I had a choice, I would buy a DA in a heartbeat. Why? No headlight switch to hit with left leg, no throttle to hit with right leg. Nicer controls for the PTO/s, range, draft...

It's basically an updated 24 with weird lights that are suppose to work better. I think it's a win situation everywhere. If you haven't, sit on both a DA and a D model and compare. From the seat you can't see the headlights anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

pekabu,

I hear you. It seems dumb to be so hung up on the front end design, but I have wanted a D series Boomer for years, then when I saw the new loaders, I was really jacked and thought that they looked great with the D styling. Now, when I finally have the time and place and means to get one, I seem to be caught up in some wierd NH design change phase thing. Then again, the 14LA has never been available on the 29d, so what am I complaining about. I guess it boils down to this - If the 29d had the 14LA loader on it, I would buy it. It may be a bit big and not as handy for small detail landscape work, but it would be my ultimate tractor. Since it's not available, I will probably go with the 24d with 12LA, which looks great but ultimately, if I get 5-10 acres or something, will be too small for large rough work. At that point, when I NEED the bigger rig, I will trade up. That's where I'm at as far as reasoning this thing out, but like I said, I really wish I could get that 14LA on the 29. Two, three years from now, when I am ready to move up, I will have to seek out a used 35 or 40d, which will take the 16LA, if I still don't want the DA, because 2003 is the last year they are making the D's.

I was at the NH Dealler this morning and came to the same conclusion about the loader and the TC29DA.

I may go with the TC24DA because of the loader.

The price seems high. What do you think?

$16,685 TC 24 DA with 12LA Loader

8,500 NH Backhoe

250 Shipping

More Info:

I was just looking at the NH catalog and it lists both a 14LA and 15LA for the TC29DA. I guess the sales person was unaware.

15la is for the supersteer option only.

I have the same setup. I bought mine from Corriher, and paid considerably less. If I remember correclty it was 13,600 for TC24D and 12LA, 5500 or 5800 for the 756c backhoe. Those prices are more inline with the quotes I got in NH, exceopt the BH is real high.

As for the LA loaders vs the 7XXX loaders series I agree. I left one dealer because all they wanted to do was dump a 7106 loader on me.
