I use IrfanView for my photo resizing. Nicest part is it has batch conversion, so you can do a whole bunch at onece.

I use Pixresizer since I find it easier to use than Irfanview. Used to use the older version of Irfanview, but the new version isn't as easy as the old. Just downloaded it, and gave it a test run. Got as far as opening the program, and closed it. Deleted it from my computer. Sometimes the older versions of programs are superior to the new version with all the bells and whistles added. Guess that is why is still like the cars of the 1960's.. basic transportation that gets you were you want to go with the least amount of repair expense. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I believe you are trying to locate Image Resizer, one of the Microsoft Power Tools.

I found a batch image resizer that I consider a keeper. I've used it for the past year or so. It's called 'Easy Thumbnails', and best of all it's FREE!

From inside IrfanView click on File->Batch Conversion/Rename. This brings up a dialog box for the batch process. The top right corner is a file browser (just like the open/save dialogs on MS programs). Find the files that you want to convert, and click on add. If you want to convert all the files in the directory, click on Add All (it is a very good idea to copy the pictures you want resized to a temp directory before converting them, that way you don't damage your originals). In the middle on the right is where you can tell it where to place the modified files. I usually just click on the "Use this Directory" button (again, make sure you don't overwrite your originals). Finally, on the lower right is the advanced options. Click on the check box tu use advanced options, and then click the advanced options button. From here you can tell it what size to make the finished pictures. The best part I like is it is smart enought to handle portrait oriented images, so it will set them to 480x640 and the others to 640x480 (or whatever sizes you pick). Also, you can add some overlay text to each image. I add a copyright notice to all my images before I publish them anywhere on the internet.
