We live down a long lane, with two very large hills/valley in the middle. Of course with this ice and snow we have been having here it is a problem.. The last hill toward the house is a problem for vehicles in dry weather it is so steep. It has gravel on it now, and if you hesitate and do not come up the hill "smartly" you will likely spin your tires even in summertime. 2WD Pickup trucks cannot back up it.. Imagine it with snow and ice on it. It had been raining on the snow this morning and she took off in her Chrysler Minivan, went down the big hill, (not fast enough by my way of thinking) Of course there is a deep ravine on either side to fall off in, at the bottom, and you would be surely killed if you fell off in it. So anyway, she does not make it over the next hump. She was within 12 feet of wet pavement and was stuck in one inch of snow/ice/slush. I put some 3/8 hex heads in my shoe soles and walked the 1/2 mile down the big hill. (that was no fun) and up the next one, and threw some kitty litter under her wheels and pushed on the back of the wagon and got it going . But she stopped and said she was done for the day and was not going to drive in the intense fog and was not going to try to get the car back up the big hill going towards the house. So I got in it ( I wasn't looking forward climbing back up that hill on foot myself) and turned it around and gave it he!!. It squirmed a bit going up the hill, but I was going fast enough for the momentum to carry it up the hill. The wifey was squirming in the passenger seat and scared to death. We made it to the garage safely. Ain't winter grand?
