It shouldn't be a battle AGAINST your spouse, it should be a battle you and your spouse are fighting as allies.
Whenever my wife starts expounding on something she has the more limited knowledge of, like computers, tractors, logging I let her go on a bit then stop her by suggesting I'll give her a lecture on real estate law (her expertise and profession).
