Replacing V belts on Del Morino flail mower

Hi Everyone, I need some advice please on how to fit new V belts on the flail mower. Belts (which are the correct one's) are too tight to coax over the grooved pulleys. The tension roller is totally loose so I've got no other way of making it easier to fit. What's the secret? Thanks

Help!! We have the same problem. Ive checked the manual to no avail - it doesnt say anything about how to fit them when THEY DONT FIT. Anyway, one fits ok, the second one wont go on cos the first ones in the way. Tried running with only one, but they snap after a very short time cos its too hot. It smells of burned rubber, then smokes for a bit before the belt snaps. Help..

I need to replace my 2 belts on my del morino funny top model 158. Can someone tell me how to both remove the old belts as well as installing the new belts? The manual just shows taking the tension off the belts which I have done but the belts are still way to tight to remove.
