I have a New Holland 2000 TC40D, the fuel injector solenoid looks like it justs screws into the injector housing.
When replacing it is there anything that has to be done? Is it more than screwing a new one in?

Well, you have to take the spade connector off the end before removing the old one. But after that, it just unscrews and the new one screws right in. It's about as simple as that. The body is even knurled for easy gripping with your fingers.

EDIT: Are you sure the solenoid is your problem? Mine burned up and stunk when I removed it and tested it with a 12 volt battery. You can measure the resistance of the coil too. It should be 11 to 12 ohms.

Thanks for the info, my solenoid gets very hot after running a few minutes, the engine cuts off, once the solenoidI cools down the tractor runs and shuts down once solenoid gets hot again.
