I have had a kk tiller for about 3 years now. I bought it a year old and in nice shape. Haven't had any problems. Keep it greased and oil checked. The last 2 years the shaft has beset around the hub but never noticed low fluid but now I go to use it and it was almost empty. So it looks like it's the dreaded seal. For now I drained it and filled it up with 00 grease hoping to be able to till a few acres for fall food plots in the next couple weeks. Will just keep a real close eye on it. But over winter i want to replace the seal. I know it's been done here and I have read some posts but I want abetter idea of what I'm getting into with only hand tools.

Couple things I am wondering. What kind of weight am I talking when I pull the gear box off and it looks like the back shield will come off at the same time. How heavy is that sucker and how do I support it? Then is the hub pressed onto the shaft? I understand the only gear I have to remove is the lower one. I'm no mechanic...can I tackle this? Any pointers? Looks like the biggest hassle is getting to the bolts that bolt the hub on.
