LT166
Hi!
I replaced the rear wheel on my LT 166, but now it seems the lever in the back that disengages the wheels so you can push the mower is always disengaged. I am wondering if I put the wheel back on wrong, since their is a groove in the axel and a groove in the rim, but nothing seems to lock them together, so the wheel spins freely.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Ronnie

:welcome:

Shouldn't be able to put the wheel on wrong, but do you have the square key in place that goes in the grooves in the axle and wheel? That could have dropped out and if not in place, will not lock the wheel to the axle. If this isn't the problem, pls explain in more detail what you are doing to "spin" the wheel freely.

I think thats the problem! I see a grove in the rim & the axle, but nothing that stops the wheel from spinning freely. Guess I need to go to the JD dealer and get a new one.
Thanks!

Prolly just laying on the ground or stuck to the inside of the rim where it fell off. About 1/4" square a couple inches long.
