Bought a hydraulic toplink from the Surplus Center and first day out I bent the ram (my fault). Contacted them about a replacement ram or cylinder w/o the check valve and they told me basically to go pound salt. I even asked if they could give me the manufactures name so I could try and get just a cylinder myself and they refused. Needless to say, I'm not a real happy customer but, that being said, does any one have any ideas on how I could get a cylinder? Is CCM making these for Surplus Center?

I doubt it, they might get them from the same supplier though. Try Surplus Center again or Dalton Hydraulics. They both advertise here on TBN.

Just get another cylinder without the check valve. Then install the check valve on the new cylinder if that is what you want. Most likely need some different fittings though.

Out of curiosity (I'm considering adding a T-n-T to my rig) how did you come to bend the ram???

I'm guessing its bent real bad? Ive take longer ones out and re-bent them in a hydraulic press with good results..
Not a good reference for surplus center. even though it wasnt your fault think they could have worked with you some.

Can't you buy a low cost equivalent cylinder and exchange the rods? Cut the length as necessary and drill a hole...

If it's just the rod bent, just have a new rod made. There should be a machine shop around that can do that. Very simple job.

They likely just said "we don't carry that part".

I don't see why SC should have to stock parts...that just raises their inventory and thus costs. They buy "surplus" and sometimes they resupply, and sometimes they don't.
I've purchased a certain size hyd. cyl. from them for a good number of years, and all of a sudden....they don't carry that part anymore. So I'm SOL. But I've nothing bad to say about SC. Still a good place to buy at low cost on many items (that they stock :) )

Just buy a new one... as I see it. :)

Your only option I think is to find a local hydraulic shop and get an estimate on them making you a new rod...

Or you could just buy a new HTL from SC, and then sell the DPOCV for $50 here on TBN or eBay.

I bent the rod on my SC hydraulic toplink within two minutes of installing it. My stupid mistake. What I did to fix it was rotate the rod 180 degrees and on purpose bend it back, but then I went a bit too far, so I rotated it again and must of done it perfect that time. The rod has one slight knick from the original mess up, but other than that it operates perfectly. No leaks, no bind.

You got nothing to lose by trying.
