Greetings,

I'm attempting to replace a decomposing seat on my L3010 in a cost effective way and have met a few obstacles.

I purchased (and returned) 2 different seats from Tractor Supply that were advertised as suitable aftermarket options but the bolt patterns (just the 2 that bolt to the hinged bracket on the tractor) don't line up. Should I just drill out the bracket to accommodate the different seat?

Any advice and past experience is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance,
J. Peters

Either that or make an adapter bar secured to the new seat w/ flat head screws with holes drilled and tapped to line up with the hinge holes.
Me, I would probably just drill new holes in the hinge bar or put new holes in the seat depending on the type fastener.

Thanks Gordon (and neighbor to the north) for the advice. In this case I guess easier is better so drilling ought to work.

Ahhh... the adventures of tractor ownership. Just like the Marines, you get to improvise, adapt and overcome any obstacle in your path. I, too, spent an enjoyable interlude rigging up a Tractor Supply seat to fit the tractor. If memory serves (sadly, it does not always do so, with increasing regularity :( ), it involved making some additional brackets.

How do you know if you are a "tractor guy" ? Easy. You actually enjoy doing stuff like that.
