Does any one know if there is a Yanmar engine to replace the 2TR20A-X that is in my YM240, either new or used.

I hadn't seen that thread. Clever! There is a Yanmar split thread in this sub-forum too.
Some engine swap pics YM2210/YM2000
That is one of the EZ-est engine swaps I've ever seen! Worth looking into.![]()

A related thread said the owner of a YM2210 VN refurb discovered a 2TR20-A (YM2000) engine in it. The displacement is the same, so 2210's extra 2 hp must be provided by more fuel, timing, or rated at higher rpm.
Thank you for posting those manuals! The pre-1975 models are covered. This is the first time I've ever seen this information.Yes, machine with the 2TRxx series MAY all bolt up to one another. The largest 2TR is the 2TR90 in the YM2700. A bit rare, but possible.
Hey, as we are on this, I'll also post something for the OP too. The 2TRxx Parts Manuals. A really RARE gem!
I tossed in the 2QM20 3QM30 engine info. In a past thread you had mentioned it was a Marine version of the 2TR20. Hey, it could work too!

Interesting! I see YM1500 is unique then YM1600,1700, 1900, 2000 all can take the same replacement block casting. All take the same crankshaft. YM1600 and 1700 take one model cylinder sleeve, YM1900 and 2000 share another one. I have suspected YM1900 was a prehistoric YM2000, this seems to confirm it.
As for YM2700: I don't think those are part of this family. YM2200 and 2700 have the exhaust on the opposite side of the block, they are a unique Yanmar series.
