I just received delivery of my new B7800 with 60” MMM.

The problem I can foresee is the discharge chute is metal. Plastic is better.

The discharge chute on the MMM on the BX1850 was plastic. It worked great. I think the 60” is excellent but I know I am going to tear that discharge chute up. I have done this on every mower deck I have ever owned that had a metal not plastic chute.

Is there a replacement plastic chute available? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

My suggestion is to take it off. I did that on my 60" MMM because it interfered with the vacuum hose when I have it on. I don't have any rocks in my lawn so launching missles is not an issue. With the chute removed you can trim on the right side as well as the left. Just my .02. I am sure someone while slam me for the safety issue but I can take it. Good luck.

Why are you tearing them up?

I'm with RaT - what is the problem? I mounted a hydraulic motor on my deck so that I can raise and lower the flap on the fly.

People tend to get used to things being a certain way. I have a metal discharge shoot on my BX2200 and am happy with it. I may be wrong but I think that Kubota has gone to plastic discharge shoots on their small tractor decks as a cost saving measure...just like the plastic fenders and hood. If metal is unfavorable then why is it used on the larger commercial tractor decks that you see out there every day?????

I keep mine bungie'd up 98% of the time. It disburses the clippings better this way and it allows me to do some triming on the right side too as well as fitting around some tight spaces better.

I'd remove it but after 3 seasons I'm kinda used to it being there. It's metal but it wouldn't matter to me if'n it was plastic as I'd still just bungie it up :D

""""ATTENTION SAFETY POLICE""""""

:p

A nice bullet proof plastic that could be run over by a semi and still retain its original form would be nice.
