Repairing a PTO shaft

Greetings,

Looking to get some info on repairing my PTO shaft for my Agrimetal BW 360 tractor blower. The universals are in good shape but the internals where it slides are oblong and have been welded before and they have multiple cracks now. The inners have a roll pin which looks like if that is removed the inners can be replaced. Has anyone done this before and where did you get the parts? I have called my dealer and they do not sell the inners of the driveshaft just the whole unit. If the replacement is longer I can cut it to size.

I found this site but not sure if what series shaft I have. I do I determine a series?

Find a good welding shop that has experience with PTO shafts. The universals can be saved and new inner/outer tubes welded on. Generally - welding on new shafts is beyond a DIY project. Otherwise - buy a new PTO shaft.

You DEFINITELY don't want to be involved with a PTO shaft failure while in operation.

"Out West" we have Six States Distributors. They specialize in drive lines - from semi trucks to large agricultural to small agricultural drive lines - and even automobiles. If you have a local drive line shop they can probably fix you up with what you need. They can weld replacement ends onto drive lines if required or source newer type parts to work with older drive lines. Their services aren't free but the charges aren't unreasonable either.
