How does one repair an *** meter that doesn't work?

No repair, just buy a new one to replace it. If you wanted the hours to match, you could just hook it to a battery and let it run till the hours were the same as the old one.

This won't work on the new digital meters. The motor has to be running. The only thing I know to do with the digital meters is to write down the last known old hour meter reading and add the new meter reading to the old meter reading.

The digital meters have batteries that can't be replaced. When the battery goes, the meter goes.

your statement is so broad as to be incorrect.

you can buy a electric hour metesr at northern tools. ( and many other palces ). it's great for things like lawnmowers.

my last one either came from napa or northere.. i have it on my ford 951

key on.. meter is running. don't care about the engine.

there are other types that are rpm gauges / hour meters.. and those will usually have inductive pickups..e tc.

again. lotsa choices under the sun!
