GoodMorning,
Does anyone have a video or know of a place where I can get one that shows how to remove/reattach a FEL on a 4520.
Thanks and hope everyone has a great weekend..!

Don't know of video but click below to see Operators Manual for the FEL. Gives precise info for attaching and detaching the loader. About as easy as you can possibly get.

The JD video is pretty good.

I have never removed one of my loaders - easier to just dump the bucket off, etc.

Thank you om21braz for the video link, was not exactly what I was looking for but an interesting video ad anyway:thumbsup: ddivinia, what you suggested is what I do most of the time and it works out fine:thumbsup:sunnyside360 I appreciate the reminder about my manual, but just for me I think a video would make it chrystal clear.

Guess I will never have a need to remove the FEL, probably is on my mind because it is there and suppose to be done fairly easy, I just wanted to try it but needed a clearer visual understanding.
Thanks..jim

I have'nt removed mine yet, but I saw via removal/reinstalling by the previous owner how important it is to have it on level ground (preferably concrete) before removing. It took about 10 minutes versus what he said should not be over a 2 minute task. I'm sure someday I'll have a reason to remove it. If not for use, the major service would be a little easier with it off and out of the way.

I remove mine often. It is a 2 minute task, at most.

Curl the bucket up, lower the FEL all the way down (which will slightly raise the front wheels), unlatch the lock(s), and raise the FEL (result will be the frame will drop from the front attachment point, i.e. the weight bracket, and become the stand for the FEL). Then the mast will raise off the two stubs a few inches, then stop. Turn tractor off, and relieve all hyd. pressure from the lines. Now comes the time-consuming 1 minute to get off and disconnect the 4 hyd hoses fromtheir ports. :)
Get back on the tractor and drive away.
The reverse to align the tractor with the parked FEL (on even ground of slab is good here), shut off tractor, relieve pressure in hyd. and connect the four hyd. hoses. Start tractor and by pushing forward on the joy stick, the frame will lift and the mast will drop down over the stubs (have to be lined up reasonably well for this action). Continue to push the joy stick forward which will bring the frame up to the weight bar, and allow you to close the locks. Good to go. About 2 minutes if the hoses have not built up oil pressure from temp changes which requires the pressure to be released (rag around the end of the male connector and pressing the tip in to let out a small bit of oil that will spray out if not careful).

All done from the tractor except for connecting/disconnecting the 4 hyd. hoses. No pins to align, no danger involved, but a rag to wipe some oil up that will drip from the removed hyd. connector is a good idea.

I am more worried about putting it back on.

I could see how taking if off my 5525 would be nice. The visibility is nowhere as good with the loader on.
