I have a ford 4610 with a loader. The loader is plumbed into the rear remotes. These both have detents. The previous owner used it for his silage loader and I am finding the detents to be extemely cumbersome for what i need the loader to do.

Can the detents be reduced or adjusted, perhaps removed? Didn't want to crack the remotes open without a little knowledge.

thanks,

adam

While not familiar with your tractor, it is my experience that most detents can be removed.

Does it have a cylindrical shaped object on the opposite end of the valve to that which the lever moves.

If you can remove that cylinder (usually a couple small bolts) you should find the detent mechanism. Probably you'll need to remove a circlip first then slide off - very carefully the spring/s and collars (taking note of the order and orientation of the components).

I'd expect to find a small ball or pin and spring which will need to be removed.

Then re-assemble to a point where you can test the success or otherwise of your efforts!

Like Allenr said, if you have standard remotes.

If you have deluxe remotes, identified by large aluminum housings for the couplers, there is an adjusting screw with a lock nut along side the coupler. Try backing off the adjustment a couple of turns to disable the detent.
