REMOVING BOSS SNOW PLOW FROM KUBOTA RTVX1100C

This winter was the first time using our Kubota with the Boss Snow plow.

When we bought it, the plow was attached and we had no trouble removing it (it was still autumn). The big mistake we obviously made however was not putting the plow on some kind of block or something with height. When we went to put it back on, it was a nightmare and it took the two of us close to 2 hours to do it. We just didn't know....

My question: We did not get the hydraulic lift with this Kubota that picks up the plow and that's what most of the YouTube video's show. (I hope I'm making sense here.)

Any suggestions as to what we should put the plow on and (most importantly) how high it should be? The Kubota is stored under a carport. We have not taken the plow off yet.

I recommend making a platform for it out of 4x4s.

LOL, know the feeling.
I generally need a crowbar to help align mine.

What I generally do is deposit my plow on short scraps (cut offs) of 4 x 4 that I keep around from projects.
Doing so on flat level ground also helps.
If easy to remove generally it is easy to re install.

The following discussion refers to the self contained electric over hydraulic front snow plow sold by Kubota that mounts into a receiver type insert that on the front bracket.

When I bought my RTVX-1100C with front mounted plow, the dealer told me that they ALWAYS wire brush all of the paint off of the receiver insert before greasing heavily and installing to prevent stiction issues. He tells me that they once needed to bring one of them into the shop, remove the mounting bracket and heat the assembly to remove the plow.

I did not allow them to do this with my plow and have installed/removed it twice since. The first time was a struggle but the second was no problem.

Grease the insert heavily before installation.

My post applies to Kubota supplied self contained snow plow 26511A. If this is not the plow that you have, please ignore.

This plow mounts to the front bracket with a receiver trailer hitch) type assembly. The "insert" is the 2" square tube that inserts into the 2" square receiver.
