HI,

I've seen two videos on taking off the backhoe and it doesn't look that bad but the guys who post these videos seem to have lots of attachments and are use to doing it. I was wondering if those of you who have only done it a few times - what is it like? Is it a pain. Trying to decide between buying a walk behind tiller and a tiller attachment for my tractor.

Also, is the Titan tiller attachment a good one? Can anyone suggest a tiller for light duty work that would work well with the mt125? I'll use it twice a year. Not going into business.

Thanks in advance.

I had mine off before I had two hours on the machine. Its my first piece of equipment as well. It was pretty straight forward and fairly easy. Be mindful of the pinch points. My only advice would be to lower it off the machine on to some cribbing or blocks. The outriggers will bleed off the the unit will sink. Youll have to hook ups the hyds and raise it when its time to put it back on which may affect your lineup with the hooks.

Either way, its a low threat evolution. Im pretty comfortable with the process after doing it twice. Hardest part was getting the seat flipped around the first time!

Taking the BH off is not difficult, but it can be annoying. You have to get the outriggers and bucket positioned just right to lift the weight evenly so the pins will pull out. Then raise it a bit more (again evenly) to lift the BH pins out of the subframe cradles. If you don't get it JUST right, the two retaining pins will not slide out. Helps to be on even, level, solid ground, but I don't have any of that.

I have more trouble getting the tiller on due to the weight of it. I don't have a dolly for it yet, so it takes some moosing around to get the lift arms lined up with the pins. Some may do it differently, but I do the lower pins, then the PTO shaft, then the top link.

Getting the BH back on takes some doing to get lined up on it straight enough. I can't see straight down behind me, so I'm thinking about one of the backup camera systems, but haven't gone that route yet.

I stopped doing that and cobbled up a pup seat behind it to use. Now all I have to do is flip it forward over the steering wheel.

Still thinking of getting a walk behind tiller.

When I use the backhoe I don't turn the seat. I kneel on it and turn my body. Turning the seat is a pita.

Not to change the subject but I found the seat needed some assembly adjustments. The rubber grommet was just mashed under the seat plate and hanging up the seat switch wiring. I took the seat off and routed the wiring and grommet where I thought it made the most sense. Now I have smooth seat sliding and flipping.

Also look at Betstco on the tiller, i would think the 48 inch tiller for around $1200. i have bought several tractor implements from Betstco they seam to be well built chinese equipment .
I have some Titan equipment also and it seams well built cheap equipment for home use but it is priced a little higher generally than Betstco.
