<img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=351032"/>Glad you got it out ...you might "mike" it to see if it was oversize. I liked the pipe washer idea so much I tried to illustrate it, attached

I just checked the holes in the ball joints in the arms with a micrometer. Results are interesting:

Left side of tractor arm: 0.888" inner opening, 0.885" outer opening

Right side of tractor arm: 0.870" inner opening, 0.863" outer opening

The pin that stuck slides right into the left side arm from either the outside or inside, no issues. The same pin slides into the inside or the right arm up until it gets to the outer edge. That pin will not insert into the outer opening of the right arm. I still need to measure the pin itself and the other one on the attachment, and try the other pin in the arms to see if it binds as well.

Off to look up the proper specs for a category 1 hitch to see if the measurements are within spec, or there's a defect.

Hmmm. So the specs I've found for a category 1 hitch indicate 7/8" is the pin size. That's 0.875", and so the measurements I took point to a bad 3 point hitch arm.

Sounds like the one edge is peened over a little bit, as if someone hammered it. A few strokes with a round file should fix it.

Just measured the pin, and it's under 0.875" by a bit (0.870") and so is well within specifications. I think a Kubota owes me a new arm. Tractor is less than 6 months old.

I could use a stone on my Drexel and likely clean it up, but this issue began when I first mounted an attachment on the tractor when brand new. Seems like I should let the dealer consider making it right before fixing myself. Having the measurements sure helps to point out the issue. If it's preened over from hammering, it's from before my pin removal attempts,a sit was that tight when I got it.

Dremel. Damned auto-correct.

As I posted earlier, sound like a bad ball joint to me and Kubota should warranty it with a new arm for that side. Take your micrometer with you and both arms and point it out and you shouldn't have any problem getting a new one.

Took the entire 3 point hitch assembly (once I figured out how to remove it) to the dealer. 15 minutes in the shop and it's been honed, now measures slightly larger than 0.875" and now pins slide in nicely. Thanks for all the advice, especially the suggestion to measure with the micrometer. All is now resolved, and I now know how to get the hitch assembly on and off the tractor too.
