Massey Ferguson 492 w/Quicke Q750 loader
I am purely novice and my uses are mainly private. Are there any larger than compact tractors with removeable hoes? The hoe end is secondary to the loader and I would like to find a used unit of some kind with 3 point and pto too, cab would be nice. I would like a machine that has industrial integrity not just a compact wanna be. Maybe I am dreaming but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out the Deere 110 TLB and both the Kubota L48 and M59. There is a cab available for the 110 but it looks like a 2-story building. Dunno about cab availability for the Kubotas.

I'm somewhat in the same boat, though its a ways off. I'd like the option of a decent hoe with easy attachment but would use the 3-pt about 90% of the time. I sure would like to have a cab for our summers here in Texas. The 110 would fit the bill nicely...but that cab is horrendous!

The JD 110 and Kubota L48 are both discontinued but available used. I don't believe JD offers a commercial grade machine with a removable hoe and 3pt hitch anymore. Kubota has the B26, L39, L45 and M59. The number indicates engine hp and all are HST equipped except the L39 which has a glide shift transmission.

I forgot to mention that a company called Laurin makes probably the best cabs for all of the current Kubota TLB's as well as the JD 110. Unfortunately they are very pricey - in the $10,000 plus range depending on options but if you need a cab they are the best available.

I am using it on a private piece of property where I do light logging, food plots (hence the 3pt and pto. Road maintenance.

Woods manufacturing used to make 3ph backhoes for larger utility tractors. Idk if they still do or not but maybe you can find a used one and tractor bigger than a compact to work with.

Lot of manufaturers make 3pt backhoes to put on utility and bigger ag tractors. More than I can list or think of. Six to 8 foot digging depth is pretty common, on a bigger tractor you can get even bigger hoes.

I've got one, I'll say it is not fun to use with a cab, lots of up & down to move. On a cabless tractor I got a year later, I can crawl btween seats, less effort.

sqdqo I was just looking for a FEL for a 60 HP tractor and for only $1200 more I bought an 1983 JD 310B backhoe. There is slop in both the hoe and FEL but the 60 HP engine starts right up and will work all day and uses very little oil. The hoses. rams and lines are all dry. Best I still have the 265 MF free of a loader to bush hog, Box Blade, etc and something to pull it out with when I get it stuck. :D

Look at all of your options.
