Remove every other tine?

Has anyone with a landscape rake tried removing every other tine in an effort to reduce the amount of soil build up.

I have - works good for picking out rocks and leaving most of the dirt behind. Kind of a pain though, takes a while to remove them.........

Glad to hear that it worked ok. Did you leave them off?

no, when I was done I put them back on because when I use it to drag our sand arena the spacing is too far with every other tine out, that was the pain - taking them off/putting them back on.

The addition of gage wheels should solve your problem.

I know every application is different, but I just wanted to let you know how effective removing every other tine has been for me.

For maintaining my beach, I needed the tines to dig deep without dragging a lot of soil. I can also remove old hay and manure from around the hay ring with out removing a bunch of soil. No need for gauge wheels in my situation.



Removing the tines does this for me.
