I just bought a 3pt log splitter from Tractor Supply

Tractor Supply Company - SpeeCo Logsplitter 3 Point Complete

I had to add hoses and fittings.

Do I need to make sure its filled with oil ?

Which connection do I need to connect to the remotes on the back of my DK35 ? Coming from the splitter, there is a "to tractor pressure hose? and a "to tractor return hose" the remote on the tractor is a " A - B" switch and on the back of the tractor the two connections are not marked.
Should the "to tractor pressure hose" connect to the "top" connection to the tractor ? Do I need to bleed the hydraulics on the tractor after ? ( how?)

There was a conversion kit that came with the splitter that converted to a "closed" system. Do I need to convert it ?

Thanks for any help

You don't need to do anything but hook up the hoses.
You can hook them either or way, Then lock your remote in if it sound like the hydraulics are struggling and the splitter won't work just move the remote lever to the other position.
After you run the splitter for a while shut the tractor off and let the hydraulics cool and check the fluid of the tractor.

You don't need to fill the splitter hydraulics before you use it. It will be filled from the tractor's reservoir when you first use it.

I haven't run a splitter but don't believe it matters which way you hook up the hoses to the tractor. You will find that only the A or B position on the remote valve will give you appropriate direction flow. You can determine that empirically after hooking it up. At least that is what happens with a backhoe.

No clue what the conversion kit thing is about. Sorry.

Leave it in the open position you want the hydraulic fluid to flow.

Share the details and some pics. I had a log load dropped off over the weekend and have been making rounds to be.... split into firewood. I have a spare engine lying around and a tractor that wants to be used.
