Laurencen: the solenoid is another good idea, with its own advantages and disadvantages. It's an all or nothing kind of solution; of course; I only have nothing now, so it would be a big improvement. The advantage is the simplicity. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look and see how it could be implemented.

I have one of those................................had an older truck once that didn't like to high idle in cold weather, add "custom" throttle advance between seat and accelerator pedal(telescoping snowbrush) worked like a charm.
