None... yet.
I decided to get the first two guns that I ever called my own out of the safe for a trip down memory lane today. The memories inspired a photo shoot... and here are the results. My Marlin 336 in .35 Remington and My Marlin 780 .22. I got the 336 for my twelfth birthday and then the 780 for Christmas about six weeks later. I gotta give it to ol' Dad... he has good taste.

I spent many a hour shooting 22 rifles as a teen and It really helped me hone my shooting skills. Cherish those guns and if I may advise get a good gun safe and make sure that your insurance policy covers the loss of your firearms. I will refrain from why I bring this up. Those are some fine looking family heirlooms.

Boy, you sure have a lot of Crocodile heads (or are the alligators?) lying about.

I love to get out my guns........

My wife thinks it's funny that every year about Christmas time, I start to get them out and clean them (and get the urge for another one:confused2:).

I wish I had more time to spend shooting them. I will when the kids get older.

Thanks for sharing...

Thanks y'all. You know... back when I was a LEO (early - mid 90's) and was heavily into the whole tactical thing, I had thought about selling these to fund other firearms. In fact, I did sell a Savage .222 over 20 gauge and a Savage double barrel 20 gauge shotgun (both also gifts from my father) during that time. I am so glad that I didn't sell the Marlins and I am so sad that I did sell the savages. Those are the only guns I have ever sold... I will never sell another if I can help it. I will definitely NEVER sell a gun to fund another gun ever again.

In the early '60s when my Dad owned an auto parts store, the Fram oil filter folks had one of their special deals for stores that sold a certain number of Fram filters. So my Dad got a free lever action 30/30 Marlin. He used it for deer hunting just a few times in Texas, but then moved to Alaska in the Fall of 1965 and bought a 30/06 for moose and caribou hunting.
