but whats the load you use with H110?

Just curious.

From the Speer reloading manual #13.

"H110 - A double-base spherical propellant designed originally for the 30 M1 Carbine cartridge, H110 probably sees more use in maximum loads for the Magnum handgun cartridges where it can duplicate factory performance figures"

Flipping thru the recipes in this book it's listed quite a few times.

When I was shooting 44mag a while back, H110 with a 240gr HP or SP made a nice load...

Here ya go the specs I had wrote down with the powder measure tool head assy. were for pistol. And like I said I have a 7 1/2' Blackhawk and an AMT Automag and where I stopped was 12.8 H110 with a 110 ball and I have the velocity listed as 1400 with a ?.

Its been so long since I worked the load up the ? either means I was guessing or my chrono was acting up so take the velocity with a grain of salt.

I know me and I was not working on max loads but rather something lighter that worked in the semi auto AMT mainly. Both pistols shoot full power rifle loads just fine but they are not really necessary for target practice imo.

btw Max load listed on the H110 bottle is 14.5 with a 100 ball in a rifle and velocity is 1608 fps.

fwtw The muzzle flash with a full power rifle load out of either of these pistols at dusk is just fabulous fun to see! :laughing:
