Hello all...

I have reengined my GTH2548 due to the original engine breaking a piston rod after less than 100 hours over the 10 or so years I owned it. It had a Kohler Command engine. I found a new in box Kohler Courage 24 hp engine and have installed it. After getting some trash in the carb while trying to get the engine running and changing it out due to surging, I finally have it running pretty well. The issue I am having is low power when running the cutting blades after engaging the solenoid. It will barely run once the blades are engaged. The blades on the deck all turn freely and the pullys are new. I also installed a new electric clutch assy. Any ideas what could be causing me this issue?

Appreciate any thought!

What are the cylinder count specs of each engine, and what about bore/stroke of each engine? I wonder if 24HP is not created equal...
