Redirecting the engine heat on a 4310

My 4310 would blow engine heat out around the hood and fuel door gaps and hit me in the face and on my legs. Hot air was also coming out from under the bottom of the cowl pieces. It was especially noticeable when mowing while wearing shorts. These tractors have a direct drive fan that pushes a lot of hot air. I decided to try to redirect it away from me and succeeded.

I cut some vents in the side panels and used a heat gun to bend them inwards. I also put some foam tape around the hood gaps and fuel cap ridges on the tank. This worked okay until I put the loader back on and I discovered the heat was now hitting the loader frame and still being directed at my legs so I cut some deflectors out of Coroplast sign material. I taped those to the new vent openings and to the loader frame to send the heat outwards. I did this on both sides. Life is much cooler now.

Yep, nice to know. To bad we can not reverse the fan on the utility tractors like they can do on some of the larger equipment.
