Per another thread of mine, doing do work for an elderly lady on her property for a VERY good rate /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Under one of her sheds, she has these two old tractors "just sitting there". Most likely her parents who used to live in the house and farmed the land while they were alive.

Just wondering if anyone would like to make a "donation" to this woman to pick up any one of these two. I'm not doing this for any money, fact is, I don't even know if these old heaps are worth anything, but I do know they are doing nothing sitting there.

I have a feeling that this woman would "just let them go", but at this time, did not mention anything to her that someone may be interested in these tractors. Fact is, if she was interested in letting them go, I don't want to get her hopes up of getting anything for them.

From talking to her, I get the feeling that if someone wanted them, she would let them go.

If interested, just pm me.

Thks

Second pic.

Keep in mind, again have no clue if these are worth anything to anybody, or just may be "trashed".

Just thought since doing a good deed, might as well continue.

There's an opportunity to do something GOOD and do what she probably would like.

FFA Chapters sometimes will get in their tractor restoration contests. They'd jump at the chance to get the Deere 40 or the Oliver. Those tractors look like they're in incredable condition. That would make for a good low cost resto project. (I'm a big fan of FFA)

Both are highly collectable, and should fetch a nice buck. (if sold)

Amazing, honestly, I think they look like "junk", but what do I know?

If anyone is interested, I'd take close up shots to get a better idea of condition.

Since you've given me the impression that they might get a dollar or two, I'm mowing her lawn this weekend and ask her if she would be interested in letting them go (again, I get the impression the answer is yes from our talks).

She does have a nice old Dodge sitting under there as well that she offerd me, but it needs work as well and I have no CLUE as to what I'm doing (nor the time).

I will check with the FFA, I know we have a local chapter.

I can't speak for the Deere, but the sheet metal alone on that Oliver is worth a good buck. It is rare to find it as straight as that appears and if it was closer to me, I'd buy it for a restoration. I've paid hundreds for a 'decent' grill that had to be pounded back into shape! That grill just needs to have the rust taken off and some fresh paint.
