Recommended or required pto

I have two implements that max at recommended 40 Hp
Tillers says up To 40 pto, mower just says 20-40 hp
Got a good price on a tractor with 46 pto
Is it too much or lower the rpms 0r?

I wouldn't be overly concerned about being 6hp over the implement limit. For the tiller, I would make sure the slip clutch is adjusted a little on the low side (assuming it has a slip clutch).

Locking up a tiller with an improperly adjusted slip clutch can result in trashing the gear box, or tractor components.

I don't think a little over will be any problem. Like RjCorazza said - be sure any/all slip clutches are properly adjusted.

I've seen/heard of lots of implements being trashed. NEVER because the tractor had too much Hp.
