2Lane that would be a model 96/22 built from '96 through '09. I have never run across one, but I am always looking....nice rifle.

The 10/22 magnums? They made 'em from '98 to 2006. I don't own one but they have almost a cult following that have been begging Ruger to start production again. I doubt that it will happen and I would guess it was a matter of sales...roughly 45,500. Compare that to the 5 or 6 million 10/22 long rifles which are still selling like hotcakes.

Thx for response-seems like it was a good idea- a bit more power than a LR but still a rim fire and a reasonably priced shell.

M7, I may just have to get one of the Henry's just to keep in the spirit of Ralphie! I had almost decided to get the model with the round lever action (Rifleman style), until the Savage came up. Nothing like a classic lever action style, and as you say, made in the USA!

I have two .22's, a 22 mag, and a .17 hmr. Since I got the .17 about 5 or 6 years ago, I have never taken my 22's out. They just gather dust. .17 hmr is hands down the best rimfire.

Yup got a .17 hmr savage with the accue trigger and bull barrel. Sweet shooting and so much fun.

I like my 10/22. Put peep sights on it like the "Liberty Rifle" used in Appleseed shoots.

Appleseed Project: The Liberty Training Rifle

But, I have the most fun shooting a friends pump 22. When we go shooting, I set my 10/22 down the second he brings that out. I think it is a Rossi; he got in about 1987. It is accurate, and just plain fun to shoot.

If u want a very nice lever action 22 go for a Marlin 39A. They are a true classic!!!

One of my favorites, I got mine in 1961, a 39A Golden Mountie Carbine.

I use to hava a nice Browning BL-22 (no scope) lever action and available in three grades. Mine as grade II, a little engraving and a 10Ct gold trigger. Prices vary from fairly cheap to several hundred bucks. Very reliable. Probably not available new anymore?

They are getting hard to find, if I run across another one like mine, I will buy it. I like the 10/22, but there is just something about that lever gun.

I really like the Marlin 795. Has bolt hold back on it. Very inexpensive and accurate! Also like the new 10/22 takedown model. Has a soild feel and very handy to breakdown for back packing, etc.

Yeah if I find a Mountie I'm gonna buy it. Just a great classic!
