Hi Guys -

I have a L2350DT and it's got two free spots on the rear fenders for lights.

I just bought two 12v, 4" white flood lights for those spots to use as work lights - Is there something i need to check before i wire these things up? There are two free wire hookups already on the tractor that i plan on using.

Thanks for the input.

Sounds like you are on your way... I'd make sure that the lights are properly fused.

does that mean INline fuse? there is a couple of empty connectors/wires that i was going to use. thanks for the advice.

I'm probably telling you what you already know...
All I was trying to say is that the lights should be properly fused.. either via fuses already in the tractor, or new ones as a result of the installation...

soo... as long as the existing empty connectors/wires are fused and you can determine that the addition of the lights will not exceed the fuse rating, you are good to go.

Do all of the Kubota's have the two extra wire hookups? I want to hook up my rear and front work lights on separate switches, is this how the extra wires work or are they hooked up to the headlight switch?

If my tractor has them, where are they? I couldn't find any info in the manual.

I know its been talked about to death but can I run 4 55 watt lights off of them (2 front/2 rear)?

If you have the spare wires under the seat, they are already fused to a circuit labeled "Work Light"

Craig, we've got a bunch of members who are better electricians than I, but I think the circuit for the work lights has a 10 amp fuse and four 55 watt lights might be too much; two at a time would likely be the limit.

Thanks guys. I went to Napa last night and they hooked me up with a couple of nice switches to use. I'm about done with the install. I will post a few photos shortly.

I bypassed the fuse box all together and wired directly to the battery.

It's a very bad idea to wire anything directly to the battery without using a fuse. If a short develops in the circuit you risk at the very least melted wires or damaging the charging system and a chance of a fire.

Yep, you can wire directly to the battery as long as you include an inline fuse in the wire and use the proper size wire for the load and the fuse, and of course, I assume you included a switch for the lights, also.

For some reason I didn't mention it but I did install an inline fuse. I used 14 gage wire, and the switches are rated for the load. Hopefully I don't have any problems.

Sorry to hijack the thread. I posted some pic's in the customization area.

Thanks,

Craig
