Does anybody know of an outfit that sells rear window guards? I want to put a steel mesh protection system of sorts on the back of my JD 5525 cab. I want the rear and right side window protected specifically. If it did both sides, I would be fine with it.

Any ideas?

Find a shop that can measure and make up expanded metal coverings that can be bolted on.:)

Good advice on the shop/fabrication idea - IMO.

You'll likely invest alot of time and money (shipping.. whew) huntin' for a 3rd party manufacturer to sell you somethin' that a local shop could build and give you later support (modifications-repairs, etc.) for.

I was havin' trouble with sticks pokin' thru my front grill and the JD grill guard was too "frilly" and wouldn't stand up to anything like a determined tree branch.. So, I had a local guy mig and tig a "hefty hummer" on my tractor.

I would much rather order something and have it show up than have to haul my tractor somewhere or have them come out, etc. Bolt on isn't so easy with a cab but I have figured out a couple ways using the spots for the add on taillights and some screws/bolts ont he top. Then I will want it powder coated or something, etc.

I suspect nobody makes jack for it and I will be making my own. Just too dang busy these days.

I hear ya... that's what winter is for up here - tractor mods and other projects!

You just need a few more months of WINTER.

Or do it yourself. It doesn't seem to be a tough job.
I don't have a cab on my Mahindra 5525, but I do have an expanded metal screen attached to the ROPS via hose clamps to protect my backside, especially when using the brush hog.

You can get all the parts for window covers from Home Depot or Lowes.

I figure it will end up being a winter project.

An open station with ROPS tractor is a whole different ball game than a cab. It is nowhere near as simple.

Actually, A brush cover kit is made specifcally for your tractor. Please be seated before viewing the price list.
4000 & 5000 Series Ag Tractors

These fellows could probably build you somthing as well.

GR is $4200 - have to put a whole cab cage on there. That is pretty excessive. Heck, maybe I need to produce theses - i think there is a market for rear flying protection without having to do a full FOPS.
