rear wheel lug/bolt for ym 240

I have lost all but 2 of the rear wheel bolts on my tractor. The only thing holding them in were lock washers, which apparently didnt work.

2 Questions:
Does anyone know what size the bolts are? The appear to be around 16mm.

Does anyone have a better method of keeping them in place other than a lock washer...maybe lock tight?

You are correct. 16mm x 30mm - coarse thread (maybe a 2 pitch? - my thread pitch gauge does not go that coarse). Lock washers should be more than enough to hold your wheel on. I suspect you may have had dirt or something between the wheel and the hub when it was put on - they were never completely tight- or that the holes in the wheel are damaged. Lock Tight works great but is overkill on wheel bolts.

I bought bolts long enough to go through the wheel & on the back side of the wheel I installed a nut on the bolt.

According to the machinerys handbook the coarse pitch is 2MM
So as Aaron said it will be M16 x 30MM with a 2mm pitch.
or more commonly known as M16 x 2 - 30MM long.
