Kubota B7800 4/wd
A Kubota salesman told me today that a B series does not have the flow capacity to run a log splitter effectively ? is this correct?

It will certainly run a splitter. May not be very fast... If you look thru threads on 3-point splitters, you'll see many comments about using tractor hydraulics and the cycle time of splitters.

Do you own a 3pt splitter or were you thinking of buying one? Do you have a use or possible use for the remote(s) other than a splitter? I'm not trying to talk you out of it but if you have to by a remote and the splitter and have no other use for the remote I think you'll find you can just go down to Lowes, Home Depot, or TSC and buy a stand alone for less money.

I have read where people have used a set of hydraulic lines for the FEL and used a bungie cord to hold the lever to power the splitter. Could save yourself some money going that route.

For me I like to use the FEL to lift large logs up so I can roll them onto my splitter.

no I do not currently own a 3 pt splitter. I have been thinking of upgrading our B7800 A Kubota salesman is offering rear remotes as part of a L series deal. I am currently waiting to test drive a L3200/L3800 if I decide not to trade up I will be upgrading our B78. What other applications would rear remotes be useful for? on a gas powered splitter what type of pump, cycle time and splitting force would I being looking for ?

Hydraulic top link and tilt is very popular
Chute rotation on snow blower
Blade rotation on scraper blade
Hydraulic winch

You could also power a cylinder on a dump trailer or a grapple or any other idea you come up with that involves a hydraulic cylinder.

I have a northern tool 3 point 16T splitter and love it...It splits both direction to make up for the slower speed. Head to head w/ my buddys tow behind 20T honda splitter we stayed pretty close....

I installed rear remotes w/ power beyond loop that feed the splitter, and the 2 remote valves are for my hydraulic top link for easier 3 pt hitch hook ups and the other for my grapple (summer), snow plow (winter)

Well worth the investment. The 3 pt hitch splitter allows you to lower for large logs and raise to split at a comfortable height for normal size logs...

Firefighter, That is a good looking simple grapple. Who makes that and what is your opinion of it?

Its called "The Thumb" and its great!!!!:thumbsup:.

can't say enough good things about it and having it...From loads of mulch and leaves to picking up trees, and not having to chain them up...

The Thumb

He has multiple sizes. Priced well. fast shipping.

Add the grapple along with a wear edge or tooth bar and you increase the ability of the grapple..

Slight underbite of the grapple so I can roll/scoop stuff into the bucket...
