Hi guys, I am thinking of adding a log splitter to my b3030hsdc I have read posts about the need for a float valve for log splitters and was wondering what i need exactly to get set up. 1000 dollars for factory parts plus installation seems extreme but if that is what it takes to do it right and make it look right, I guess I will just need to do it. I installed my own front bypass valve from WR Long for my front grapple. That was fairly strait forward and turned out nice and professional looking. I have seen some make shift valves mounted on the ROPS but with the cab model, I am not sure it would look or work the same way... any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't want float for a splitter - you need to bungee the regular valve in the "on" position if you want to use the rear remote.

The parts you'd need to get one remote are:
B7306 base kit $412
B7304 standard valve $206

to add a second
B7370 second position kit$206
B7304 or B7305 (float valve) $258

The other option is to run it off a "power beyond" setup typically used to power a backhoe.

Woods has a hose kit the sell for the BH70 & BH80-X that would work #1016359 $175

Thanks for the info, will that hose kit from woods give me everything I need then to hook into a log splitter? I really don't see using it for anything else but I guess you never know... Thanks for the info hazmat.

95% anyway - not sure what it comes with as far as quick disconnects. You might need some adapter fittings to get to your splitter.

Give woods a call - they have a decent tech support line.

You can download the manual here (too big to attach) search for B3030 and you'll find the right subframe kit which has install instructions

sub frames is number 1016331

sure you want a tractor driven splitter? I went with the harbor freight one, and have been very pleased with that choice - you can see my thread on here. No wasted hours on expensive tractor, and nice to use the bucket of the FEL while splitting

I went the separate engine route myself. If I did it again, I'd go tractor mounted. That kubota diesel sounds so much better than the POS briggs I've got on my yard machines splitter. I also have to worry about mice nesting in the engine - so far they have taken out my leaf blower & trac vac. Plus storing it would be easier - smaller and easier to "palletize".

Hazmat, don't want to hijack topic but do you have the new L-series catalog like the one you listed for the B-series? Would be appreciated....

Just spoke to the shop foreman at the local dealer and he said that the Kubota valves are floaters and that for a splitter I ought to use something else. He suggested tapping into the WR Long valve and running the hoses with a disconnect and running them in series. He told me to come see him and he could do a diagram for me to do it. He said if I installed the first one, this one would not be a problem. I will let everyone know what I find out when I go talk to him.

I hate briggs. HF splitter is Robin Subaru.

No major issues in last year and half
