Rear hydraulics on 770?

One more question - after I purchased this tractor, I called the dealer who sold it with the serial number to see what they could tell me. Dealer says that this tractor has "dual SCVs," which they say means it was delivered with the rear hydraulics already installed. I'll be darned if I can see anything that looks like a rear hydraulic setup on this machine. Anyone have a picture of the rear hydraulic hookups on a 770 so I know what to look for?

The "Dual SCV's" he is referring to are for the loader, controlled by the joystick.

That makes more sense. But if anyone has pics of rear hydraulics installed on a 770 I'd still appreciate it. I might consider installing the power beyond option...

I would guess the hydraulic connections are mid-mount on left side ie under or by the steps since as KennyD indicated dual-scvs are normally for the loader. KennyD also supplied you with the URL for JD parts you might want to look there also for a picture.

Mine is on a JD 870 (same difference) . The rear power beyond is a set of coupler ports located behind the seat. In my picture you can see the 2 hoses going up to the right rear fender where a prince set of valves are located. real obvious if you have it.
I installed them myself, took about 1-1/2 hrs and had to remove the seat. You remove the bolts where existing hydraulics feed into the tractor, add the kit with new extended flow bolts and bushings. wasn't hard at all. The kits may be hard to find nowadays though.

If you have the DSCV I would add plumbing to have rear ports. That's what I have done. You can buy a kit from JD, but they are $$. They also come up on the auction site occasionally. I'll try and remember to get a pic of my set-up and post it tonight. Anyway, unless you are planning to run a back-hoe I wouldn't add a power beyond kit. They are $$, especially for what they are, and you have to either add control valves or the implement has to have them. (like a BH would) Just my .02.

When I bought my JD770 last fall, the JD dealer also incorrectly told me that dual SCV meant that I had rear remotes. Dual SCV means that the joystick for the loader can do two functions at the same time (i.e. raise loader and dump bucket). You can perform two functions on the loader by moving the joystick to one of the four diagonal positions.

There are two JD kits available to have hydraulic outlets in the rear of the JD770 tractor:

One is what Villengineer posted - run flexible lines from the loader outlets to the rear of the tractor. The postive side of this kit is that you can use the loader joystick to control the rear outlets. The negative side is that you can't use the loader at the same time you are running the rear outlets.

The second is to run hard lines to the rear of the tractor (see my pictures). The positive side is that you can use the loader while having rear hydraulics. The negative side is that you have to buy and install another joystick (like what gsrthegreat posted) or use one that comes with an implement (i.e. log splitter, backhoe, etc.). JD doesn't make another joystick for the JD770, so you have to buy an aftermarket "open center" joystick.

The rear auxillary hydraulic line kit from JD took me a few hours to install. The directions that came with the kit was good and had pictures. I currently don't own any rear implements that need hydraulics, but I plan to in the future (top-n-tilt). I also thought it was a good idea to install the kit before they are unavailable.

You can use the SCV for both the loader and rear remotes at the time. You split the circuit you want to use in both places by using a solenoid valve and a momentary contact switch. I have all the parts to do that to mine, but haven't needed to spit the circuit yet so I haven't installed it. Significantly less expensive than buying and installing the power beyond kit, an aftermarket control valve, and the associated plumbing. This is a very common way to spit functions on equipment.
