Rear Discharge Mowers

What is the real importance of using a rear discharging mower?

On an RFM, a rear finishing mower, the rear discharge blows the chaff out nicely, spreading it over the width of the mower.

A side discharge mower deck often discharges the chaff out an 8" chute, which can create a narrow windrow of unsightly chaff.

When you mow along side a building or fence line, you also don't pile up chaff against it, like a backstop.
