Really a cheap tool guy now!

Wow hey my Boss bought a cheap tool business and he wants me to market them now for him...along with 50 million other things he asks me to do

So I set up my first day of sales today I haven't unpacked all the boxes yet but there's wrenches and pliers and bolt cutters, hammers and screwdrivers, pipe cutters, bar clamps, spring clamps, gloves, loppers and hedge shears, pruners, Teflon tape all the great CHEAP chit right

Dial calipers too!



Mostly MIT and Tekton tools. Can hardley believe the prices both our retail and especially wholesale.

This soo cool...

You totally cheap tool guys would love it!

I got a MIT socket set one time and it was sooo not cool. All of the sockets except one would not fit anything. TOTAL JUNK. Ed

I have a lot of decent MIT tools, mostly large impact sockets over one I inch all do the job for me.

As for junk hey look at all the HF guys here

good to have at times ... not so good at others ...

I use good tools when I put a load on some nut or bolt , or have to remove "that " screw ... etc

cheap tools are for those fasteners not under stress, or for leaving around and someone might pick them up and walk away , when you have to build that special tool and don't want to sacrifice a good one ... attaching a dedicated wrench to a machine ...

they have their place ....

Use them as trade stimulators. Put them in bins or totes and let folks dig thru them. I always stop and look at the $5 & &10 cheap tool bin, usually grab something, then continue to walk around the store. Like was said they are good for dedicated uses like wrenches on the tractor to change shear bolts.

I buy them for emergency kits if I have to keep them in the tractor or boat, that way if I lose them, they get rusty or stolen no big deal. Just spend another 5$ and get more.

Compared to prices (or maybe my net worth ) in the past a reasonable set of Craftsman wrenches, sockets, etc. seems dirt cheap now if you buy the set on sale??

I already have about 30 pairs of pliers, my own and inherited tools from my Dad and FIL. It's been a while since I have not had the regular hand tool I need for my puttering. I think the last thing I bought was a socket to fit a large nut on my backhoe frame.

Ohh man but do people buy all that stuff...I sold ALL the T handled allen sets both metric and standard ones you know the cute colored ones just like HF has

My boss didn't even know what they were...he asked me what are these anyways?

Cripes they were asking for stuff I didn't even have like pipe wrenches.

Sold all the bar clamps...
And small hardware kits too.


And the fiberglass handled hatchets sold wicked...

When we packed the trailer my boss said to me look at these hatchets aren't they great and I said who buys that s**t...well jokes on me I guess :laughing:


and also a bunch of floor brooms.

Then my boss asked did they by the dust pans..I said no.


We had some name branded items too, same name ratchet straps the Tractor Supply Store sells, plus some Husky, Fiskers, Craftsman in new garden tools and Dewalt, Oldham, and ACE for driver bits, and saw blades. Kinco B&G, West Chester, Wells Lamont and Memphis branded gloves in different types from cotton to leather.

Bunch of cheap leds lights with Cree bulbs...magnetic stick lights, flashlights, and headlamps. All pretty cool.

People went nuts on chineese bi metal recip saw blades...not a clue if there worth a dime but 5 Lenox blades at the hardware is like $15 these were $3.00 for a pack of 10. I told my boss he should get a bit more at least $5.00 RIGHT!

Actually we had very little for wrench sets some really bad looking combo wrenches in vinyl pouches at $3 but hey one guy bought two sets and no had socket sets at all except for one screwdriver bit set


Can't hardly wait until tomorrow!

And my boss cant hardly wait til he buys more stuff.

I will have to go shopping with him now I guess.

Oh man I just put one of those cheap chineese 14T recip blade (the 10 packs we had) into my 12V Milwaukee Hackzall tonight and tore right through a piece a scrap steel I had lying around...a 1/2 dia. U- bolt that finally broke after 14 years of abuse on my Bushog tiller. No discernable wear at all when I was done either.

I just moved what was left of them all out that $3.00 box!
