After reading an old post on bearing failure on a rck60-24b I decided to check my mmm as I wanted to switch over to a synthetic grease. One of the bearings spun roughly so I changed all of them. When I pressed the new bearings in I found resistance for about 3/4 of an inch and then the bearing was able to be pushed in by hand. I noticed that the outer ring of the bearing can slip if forced lightly. The old bearings are not burnt and the housing has no sign of wear or damage. I would like to know if slippage of the outer ring is normal for these bearings. In a car the outer ring doesn't move. Thanks for the help.
