Ram1500 EcoDiesel V6 revealed!

I would like to see your door sticker. That is the real number after subtracting all your options. Aftermarket air bags add nothing to the legal payload capacity. Here is my sticker on an 2011 f150 ecoboost supercrew 2wd.

Based on your second pic, your payload is 1256. Adding air bags doesn't increase the payload, it just helps it carry the weight more level.

I guess you only see what you want to see.

The Ram's suspension has a higher rating than the Ford, but Ford then rates their payload and gvwr higher.... so which company is fudging the numbers.

Ummm, I'm just reading what's on the sticker. So, tell me where I'm "seeing what I want to see." Seriously, I'm not making anything up, just reading what I see.

You do realize that there is more to calculating the payload than just using the axle ratings, right? You saying Ford is fudging numbers is "seeing what you want to see", not my reading directly what's on the stickers.

Geez, dude!

The Ford GVWR (7350#) is rear GAWR (4050#) + front GAWR (3600#) -300#. On the Dodge (6800#) it is rear GAWR (3900#) + front GAWR (3900#) -1000#.
Perhaps Dodge trusts their suspension more than they trust their frames?

Aczlan got it.

When I'm driving commercially, it's the individual axle ratings that I have to look at, because that's what the scale operator is going to be looking at.

Alberta - Strong employment, and lots of pickup trucks - What's not to like ? :)

Your oilpatch is doing very well too.

But my point still stands. The maximum payload on that truck is 1256 lbs. Period. It doesn't matter if the axles are rated at 50k lbs. The payload is 1256. There are many factors that limit the rating on the truck from the tires to the frame to the axles to the brakes, etc. We don't know exactly what the limiting factor on your truck is, but we do know it's NOT the axles. This isn't brand biasing, this is fact.

So, could you show me where I'm "seeing what I want to see"?

Avoid the US. The first thing they will look at is what you are registered for. Exceed that and you are going to pay no matter what your truck is rated for. The next will be the weight ratings on your tires. Since anyone can upgrade the suspension and brakes the door sticker means little to the DMV.
