You can get real close to a f250 and an ecoboost if you opt for the max payload package. More than 3000 lbs payload in the regular cab. I wanted this option with mine but didn't want the 6.5 bed with the supercrew. Just too long.

Yeah, I can actually get more payload in an F150 with the max payload package than the 1999 lbs of payload on my Super Duty. However, I feel safer towing my fifth wheel with a much heavier truck, especially when I've got my family onboard. I feel safer 200 lbs over in an F250 than 200 lbs under in an F150.

I own a 2014.

What configuration and do you have a picture of your yellow door sticker. I shopped the dodges in 2011 and couldn't find anything well equipped with a payload great enough to take my family camping. I liked the truck but wanted to be legal.

Ram upped the payload considerably in 2013 (I think) with the addition of optional air suspension. Without the air springs, the coil link rear couldn't take the payload and the Ram was left in last place in payload.

I think the payload actually went down. They removed the max payload option available in the tradesman. I really don't think the air suspension adds any payload value.

I found this interesting. Build a ford base model crew cab 6'4 bed 4x4 with the Eco boost. And do the same with the ram and the new 3.0 eco diesel. The ram is cheaper. So the upfront cost everyone is complaining about isn't there.

Big Horn Crew 4x4 Hemi ; 6900 GVWR 1510 Payload 7900 Tow. I also have aftermarket air bags in the rear for an additional 1000 lbs.

Ok, this is getting a little silly. Rated Payload is 1400 to 1600 lbs depending on the configuration. If you go by the axle ratings it's right around a ton.

Axle ratings are not the numbers that matter, it's GVWR. Dodge 1/2 tons have always had this issue.

I would like to see your door sticker. That is the real number after subtracting all your options. Aftermarket air bags add nothing to the legal payload capacity. Here is my sticker on an 2011 f150 ecoboost supercrew 2wd.
