I attempted to raise my deck to the top position tonight so I could mount the backhoe on for a quick dig. Wouldn't go any higher than 4! Felt like if I twisted any harder the knob would break. I know others have had this issue, any suggestions?

Thanks!

With the deck raised to its full height (where you would lock it when using the BH) the knob should turn smoothly without much effort. Get under there and look at the round stepped stop the knob turns, its entirely low tech how this works and the indicator on the knob is not entirely precision.

Yes, I have seen the round toothed cam when the tractor was being built...I volunteered my time to help get it delivered on a Black Friday 2 years ago so I could get my projects started.

It just feels like the deck isn't raising high enough to get that last click or tooth. When I drop the deck I'll have to see if something is loose or misaligned.

Thanks!

Remember the deck is raised by the 3pt. So if the 3pt is not going as high or high enough you may not be able to get all the movement you need for the deck height adj. knob. Mine is that way right now. I have to adj. the stops on my 3pt due to BH subframe. There is also the linkage from 3pt to mower lift mech.

Good Luck !

Jeff,
Good call, I need to check the height on the 3-pt to see if it is indeed going up all the way. Thanks for the tip.

Just watch the warnings too on using the 3pt lift arms while the BH is attached. The lift lever should not be used once the BH hydraulics are attached.
